Cylindrical Rustic Planters - Bottomless

SKU
GP7924

Our Cylindrical Bottomless Outdoor Garden Planters are manufactured in the UK from solid mild steel. Our rustic range of planters defy the weathering process that takes its toll on all other planter ranges.

Over time weathering improves the natural rustic patina finish of the planter. This makes these Planters look fantastic and natural far longer than timber or treated alternatives.

The bottomless design of this cylindrical planter allows for plants to take root in the soil underneath the planter ensuring better-hydrated plants. Invest in your garden with a beautiful planter that will improve with your garden over the years.

HERMEQ have rapidly become one of the UK's largest manufacturers & suppliers of Garden planters since launching our Midlands Manufactured rustic planters in 2019. Buying from us, you will benefit from dealing directly with a manufacturer of bespoke and unique steel garden products, giving you a quality re-assurance. All of our planters are made to our high standards, but if something isn't right then we're always here to help.

These Cylindrical Bottomless Outdoor Garden Planters are handmade from our midlands manufacturing premises using prime heavy duty solid steel. Unlike Galvanised or Coated steel products, we use raw mild steel to manufacture these planters & roll these steel sheets to give you a circular planter, which has a full seam weld to seal them. The raw mild steel, when exposed to the elements, undergoes an oxidisation process on the surface. This provides a natural rustic finish or as we prefer to describe it, a glowing patina.

The bottomless design allows for plants to take root in the soil underneath the planter. This prevents plants becoming pot-bound and provides them with natural access to moisture and nutrients from the soil beneath making for a much healthier & better-hydrated garden.

These circular garden planters are built to last, and its stunning full orange patina finish can take up to 6 months to full develop. The wonderful thing with a rustic planter is that it is an investment in your garden like no other, with time the piece become more unique & beautiful.

To speed the oxidisation process up we manufacture for stock & apply solvents that increase the speed of this chemical process. This means the circular planter turns up at your door well on its way to its natural beautiful finish that will only improve with age.

Our planters can be used in domestic or commercial settings, injecting your outdoor space with some rugged character.

These planters require absolutely no assembly and are easy to set up – the planter must simply be placed on the surface you desire and to be filled up with soil and plants to be planted.

There is 3 different sizing options available for the planter's height and diameter:

Sizing:

Height: 200mm, 400mm, 600mm

Diameter: 400mm, 600mm, 800mm

Thickness: 2mm

Corten Steel vs Raw Steel

Corten Steel is also known as weathering steel – the atmospheric corrosion which occurs when being out in all weathers. Instead of corroding, surface oxidation occurs whereby the steel surface develops its own protective film. Over time this appears as a beautifully aged and weathered finish.

With these robust properties, Corten Steel is the more expensive option on the market when compared to our Rustic Patina Raw Steel option. Corten Steel shows rust a lot quicker than Raw Steel – Corten Steel should rust until a 6-9 month period with Raw Steel continuing to rust up until 12 months outside exposed to weather conditions.

Both of these steel options will look very similar when rusted despite Corten Steel being of higher quality. It is primarily used in construction for structures that are required for decades or centuries. Rustic Patina Raw Steel corrodes quicker than Corten Steel but still at a slow pace.

Pre-Weathered vs Weather Ready

For an additional cost our team will apply a Weathering Solution to your planter before delivery. This will ensure that your item arrives 'Pre-Weathered' with a Patina. Weather-Ready ensures that your planter is delivered as it comes with it's Steel intact & ready to be weathered and develop it's patina naturally & over time.

These tall planters are handmade from UK manufactured heavy-duty solid steel and require zero maintenance unlike wooden or plastic alternatives. Planters can take 6 to 9 months to develop a full orange patina and are built to last.

The planters couldn't be easier to set up – simply requiring you to fill them with soil and plant your chosen plants. Each planter has a drainage hole at the bottom – essential for the health of your plants.

Please Note: Due to the natural weathering process as the natural patina develops, the “runoff” from rainwater and watering may stain the surface the planter is placed upon. This is a higher risk during the 1st 6 months of the weathering process.

Our planters can take between 6 to 9 months to develop a full patina finish. Where possible we have started this process for you, planters may be delivered at any stage(s) of the weathering process from new steel to full patina unless you order a 'pre-weathered planter finish' in which case we guarantee it will arrive with a fully developed patina.
