The MultiPercher is a freestanding overhead fall arrest anchorage for people working on trailers, flatbeds and articulated vehicles where there is no permanent anchor point. A concrete-filled steel ballast bin holds the structure in place beside the vehicle, so the trailer needs no fixing or modification. The anchor point sits at 6.50m at the top of a cantilevered arm assembly that reaches over the working area.
Each unit comes with an Abtech TORQ Lite 6m webbing fall arrest device. It connects at the overhead anchor point and forms part of the user's personal fall arrest setup, alongside other suitable, compatible equipment.
- Kentledge base: 1.85 x 1.85m steel ballast bin, 0.55m high, weighing 1900kg once filled with concrete, with adjustable feet for levelling
- Cantilevered anchorage: 2.50m upper arm on a hinged primary body (2.39m wide, 3.33m high, 44.5kg)
- Modular build: the primary body, 350 adaptor (98kg) and ballast bin can be handled separately for installation or relocation
- Overall size: 1.90 x 1.90m footprint and 6.50m height
- Finish: steel construction with a varnish coating system
- Standard: designed in accordance with BS EN 795
Single and Double layouts
The Single system gives anchorage coverage from one side of a trailer and suits operations where people normally work from a defined side of the vehicle. The Double system places a MultiPercher unit on each side of the trailer. It suits loading bays and larger vehicles, and any task where access is needed from either side. Simultaneous user protection is possible where the approved equipment configuration permits it. Single and Double versions are listed as separate products.
What is supplied with each unit
Every MultiPercher unit consists of the following components:
- 1 x MultiPercher Primary Body: the hinged upper assembly with the cantilevered anchorage arm
- 1 x MultiPercher 350 Adaptor: the central mast and stabilising supports between the ballast and the primary body, 4.50m high on a 1.55 x 1.35m footprint
- 1 x MultiPercher Large Ballast Bin: the steel formwork that is filled with concrete to form the kentledge base
- 1 x Abtech TORQ Lite Webbing Fall Arrest 6m: the retractable device for connection at the anchor point
Typical uses include loading and unloading flatbed or open trailers at distribution centres and logistics hubs, trailer and load access for haulage operators, and handling materials from trailer beds on construction sites. It is also used for vehicle loading at ports and terminals, for maintenance work involving commercial vehicles or transported equipment in utilities, and in rail environments that need an independent overhead anchorage.

Does the MultiPercher need to be fixed to the trailer?
No. The concrete-filled ballast bin supports the structure at ground level beside the vehicle, so nothing is fixed to or permanently installed on the trailer.
What is included with each MultiPercher unit?
One primary body, one 350 adaptor, one large ballast bin and one Abtech TORQ Lite Webbing Fall Arrest 6m device. The ballast bin is steel formwork that is filled with concrete.
What is the difference between the Single and Double systems?
The Single system covers one side of a trailer. The Double system uses a unit on each side, which gives a wider working area and access from either side. Simultaneous user protection is possible where the approved equipment configuration permits it.
How heavy is the ballast, and can the unit be moved?
The ballast bin weighs 115kg as bare steel and 1900kg once filled with concrete. The primary body (44.5kg) and 350 adaptor (98kg) can be handled separately, but relocating the filled base needs to be planned around its weight.
How high is the anchor point?
The overall height and the anchor point height are both 6.50m. The upper arm is 2.50m long and extends over the working area.
