Biodegradable Tree Mats provide an effective barrier against weed penetration to protect newly planted saplings and young trees from competitive weed growth.

These Tree Mats have been manufactured with a breathable biodegradable fabric to insulate the roots from temperature extremes and conserve ground moisture for healthier development.

These Tree Mats are sold individually. Also used alongside Tree Guards.

Details

Manufactured in the UK from the industry-leading professional-grade, weed control membrane made purely from organic material which is fully compostable with a low carbon footprint to provide tree root protection. It is the only weed control fabric on the market which has been made from environmentally friendly PLA (Polylactic Acid).

PLA has been made from annually renewable, starch-rich vegetables with production requiring fewer fossil fuel resources and generating less greenhouse gases than traditional plastic fabrics. Each Tree Mat has been tested for compostability and certified to BS EN 13432:2000 standards – they will fully break down to nutritious matter and leave no synthetic residue.

Our Biodegradable Tree Mats are earthy brown in colour and resist airborne seed settlement far better than any other degradable fabric out there.
