CableSafe safety hooks are S-shaped hooks made from glass reinforced polyester (GRP) for hanging cables, hoses and light equipment clear of the floor. The material does not conduct electricity or heat, and the yellow colour makes the hooks easy to spot on busy sites. Four sizes are available, with static load ratings from 40kg to 265kg depending on size.

Keeping cable runs and hoses off walkways removes a common cause of trips on construction, industrial and logistics sites. The simple S-hook shape allows quick fitting and repositioning as temporary cabling changes.

  • Sizes: 152mm (6in), 229mm (9in), 305mm (12in) and 381mm (15in)
  • Static load: 40kg, 55kg, 190kg and 265kg, depending on size
  • Material: glass reinforced polyester, non-conductive to electricity and heat
  • Colour: yellow
  • Supply: batches of 25 units, minimum order 25 units
  • Service life: over 15 years, as stated by the manufacturer

Construction and handling

GRP gives the hooks a rigid body that holds its shape under load and does not corrode like a steel hook. Because the material is non-conductive, the hooks are used where power cables run close to other services or plant. This describes the hook material only. The rating of the cable itself and your site's electrical procedures still apply.

Choosing a size

The load figures are static ratings, meaning weight hanging at rest. They are not lifting or fall protection ratings. Check the combined weight of the cable or hose run carried by each hook against the rating of the size you select, and allow for wet hose and bundled cables. Hooks should be inspected regularly and replaced if cracked or damaged.

Typical uses

On construction sites the hooks carry power cables and hoses above access routes. They are also used in oil and gas facilities, shipyards and offshore work, warehousing and logistics, and industrial maintenance, where temporary cabling is routed during installation and repair work.

What are cable safety hooks used for?
They hold cables, hoses and light equipment off the ground, which keeps walkways and work areas clear of trip hazards. Typical settings are construction sites, shipyards, refineries, warehouses and maintenance work with temporary cabling.

How much weight can each hook carry?
The static load rating runs from 40kg to 265kg depending on size. These are ratings for weight hanging at rest. They do not cover lifting or fall protection, so check the weight of the cable or hose run against the size you choose.

Are the hooks non-conductive?
The glass reinforced polyester body does not conduct electricity or heat. This applies to the hook material only. The cable's own rating and your site's electrical procedures still apply.

How many hooks are supplied?
They are supplied in batches of 25 units, and the minimum order is 25 units.

How long do the hooks last?
The manufacturer states a service life of over 15 years. Actual life depends on loading, handling and site conditions, so inspect the hooks regularly and replace any that are cracked or damaged.
