MiTower Stairs is an aluminium stairway scaffold tower that gives a level working platform when the tower stands on a staircase, where a standard scaffold tower or a ladder cannot be set up level. The platform measures 1020 x 610mm, takes one user and has a safe working load (SWL) of 150kg.
Two people build it in under 20 minutes. The overall footprint of 1170 x 730mm suits internal stairwells and other restricted access areas, and the aluminium frame keeps tower weights between 67.69kg and 106.73kg depending on height.
- Working heights: 4.2m, 4.7m, 6.2m and 6.7m
- Platform heights: 2.2m, 2.7m, 4.2m and 4.7m
- Guardrail heights: 3.2m, 3.7m, 5.2m and 5.7m
- Platform size 1020 x 610mm, single user, SWL 150kg
- Overall footprint 1170 x 730mm
- Two-person build in under 20 minutes
- Compatible with existing MiTower units
Choosing a height
Platform height is where the user stands. Working height is platform height plus 2m, so a 2.2m platform gives a 4.2m working height. Compare the working height with the height you need to reach, then check the weight of the size you have chosen, as the tower grows from 67.69kg at 4.2m to 106.73kg at 6.7m.
Building and using the tower
The tower should be built, inspected and used by competent people, following the manufacturer's instruction manual. Stabilisers and level ground are covered in that manual, and the instructions for your tower size take priority over any general guidance.
Upgrading an existing MiTower
MiTower Stairs is compatible with existing MiTower units, so owners can add stairs capability without buying a complete new tower. For flat floors, the MiTower One Man tower (4m to 6m working height) and the MiTower+ Two Person tower (4m to 8m working height) cover the same trades.
Typical uses
Stairwell construction and refurbishment, painting and decorating above staircases, electrical and mechanical installation, and maintenance in commercial buildings and industrial facilities where the work area is confined and the floor is not level.

What is the difference between platform height and working height?
Platform height is the height of the deck the user stands on. Working height is platform height plus 2m. A 2.2m platform gives a 4.2m working height, and a 4.7m platform gives 6.7m.
Can one person build MiTower Stairs?
No. It is built by two people and takes under 20 minutes. The flat-floor MiTower and MiTower+ are the models that one person can build.
How many people can work on the platform?
One. The platform is 1020 x 610mm with an SWL of 150kg. For two users on the platform, a flat-floor MiTower+ has a 240kg SWL, but it is not designed for stairs.
Can I convert an existing MiTower for stairs?
MiTower Stairs is compatible with existing MiTower units, so you can upgrade without buying a full new tower. Confirm the parts required for your tower size with the supplier before ordering.
Who should build and inspect the tower?
A competent person, following the manufacturer's instruction manual. In Great Britain, work at height must be planned and carried out by competent people under the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Northern Ireland has its own regulations.
